BASIC TOUR INFORMATION

Tours are available Monday - Friday, usually from 9 am - 3 pm.
Special arrangements can sometimes be made.

  • Recycling Center and Landfill/Wind Turbine tours generally last one (1) hour, but can be adjusted to fit your needs.

  • Wind Farm tours are only 20 - 30 minutes.

  • Travel time between the Recycling Center and the Landfill/Wind Farm is about 15 minutes

WIND FARM TOURS (SEASONAL)
 

Come visit the first commercial wind farm in Ohio!

 

Wind Farm tours are only 20 - 30 minutes. Travel time between the Recycling Center and the Landfill/Wind Farm is about 15 minutes.

  • As part of a tour group, you'll be able to walk right underneath the spinning blades - an area normally restricted to visitors.
  • Tours run 9am to 3pm, Monday through Friday, and must be scheduled with the office in advance.
  • Special arrangements may be made; all tours are subject to weather limitations.
  • Visit the Wind Turbine Viewing Area anytime (on the same drive as the Wood County Landfill) and pick up an informational brochure at the solar-powered kiosk!
