FORCE MAIN
line
A force main to pipe leachate from the Landfill to the City of Bowling Green Waste Water Treatment Plant was installed in 2010. The dedicated line was installed using directional boring equipment requiring minimum open trench digging. The force main has reduced trucking and treatment costs and provided a permanent solution for properly handling and treating waste water from the Landfill.

LANDFILL METHANE GAS COLLECTION PROGRAM
line

The landfill gas project is still moving forward. Finding the proper sized generating equipment and making operation of the system financially sustainable has been a challenge. Without financial support from a $235,000 grant from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, the project would not be possible.

The current timetable is to be collecting landfill gas and generating electricity by the end of 2012.
